In his own words: "I have been involved with many interesting and varied projects over the years, from building timber framed houses in Canada to building wooden boatsand making bespoke furniture. In recent years I have specialised in the manufacture of curved handrail and staircases. It is in the making of geometric handrail that I take the most pride. I use traditional methods which, for the most part, have been long forgotten. There is no laminating; I cut from solid wood and profile by hand.
Using time-honoured skills to produce furniture and handrails is very important to me.This is reflected in the work I carried out for English Heritage on a beautiful Tudor coach house in the depths of the Devon countryside and also in the multi-million pound exclusive residential development commissions at Park Lane, Chelsea and Kensington, London.
My family and I made the big move from England - Salcombe in Devon - to Picton in 2006, and we have soon grown to love working and living in New Zealand."
Recent projects here have included a refit on a 90 foot yacht in Picton marina and cabinet work for a project in the Marlborough Sounds.
